Boiled Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 apples, pared and sliced
3 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
enough milk to make a stiff batter
Preparation

Bring apples, water and brown sugar to a boil and cook until half done.
With hands, mix butter into dry ingredients.
Add egg and milk.
Drop dough on boiling apples.
Cook 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with milk.
Other fruit can be used instead of apples.
