Parker House Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. milk, scalded
    1/4 c. Crisco shortening
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 well-beaten egg
    3 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
Preparation
    Soften active dry yeast in warm water (110\u00b0).
    Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
    Add softened yeast and egg.
    Gradually stir in flour to form soft dough.
    Beat vigorously; cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk. Punch down.
