German Chocolate Layer Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. butter or margarine (soft)
    1 c. chopped nutmeats
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Combine cake mix, butter, nuts and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
    Press 1/2 of cake mixture into pan; bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk; spread over cake mixture.
    Put chocolate chips on top of caramels, then the remaining cake mixture over the chocolate chips.
    Spread lightly.
    Bake for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0. Cut when cool.
