Ingredients

1/3 c. butter or margarine
1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and brown sugar until light.
Add flour and chopped walnuts.
Cream with spoon until mixture forms crumbs. Set aside 1 cup mixture for topping.
Press remaining crumb mixture into ungreased 8-inch square pan.
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Set pan on rack to cool.
