Sour Cream Date Dreams - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 beaten egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream
2/3 c. dates

Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening and vanilla.
Add egg and mix well. Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to shortening alternately with sour cream.
Stir in dates.
Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
Top each with walnut half. Bake at 400\u00b0 for ten minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
