Green Tomato Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. chopped green tomatoes
    2 medium onions, chopped
    2 qt. cold water
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 c. white vinegar
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. each ground turmeric and cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. powdered mustard
Preparation
    Combine tomatoes and onions with water and salt in crock or bowl; soak for 3 hours.
    Drain and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
    Combine remaining ingredients and boil for 3 minutes.
    Add tomatoes and onions; bring to a boil and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
    Pack into hot sterilized jars and seal.
    Makes 2 or 2 1/2 pints.
