Creamy Southern Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. milk
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cook sugars, butter, milk and syrup to soft ball stage or 238\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
    Add baking powder, vanilla and nuts. Beat until creamy and of a consistency that can be dropped by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
    Let set until cool.
    Store in airtight container.
    Makes 2 pounds.
