Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for 1 or 2-crust 9-inch pie (depending on preference)
    36 Ritz crackers
    3 c. water
    3 heaping tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation
    Roll out pastry for the bottom of the pan.
    In saucepan, boil 3 cups of water.
    On the side, mix sugar with cream of tartar. Add to boiling water and stir until dissolved.
    Add 36 Ritz crackers one by one into boiling water.
    Do not stir!
    Boil 3 minutes.
    Pour mixture into pastry shell.
    Sprinkle top with cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Cover with second pastry shell, if desired.
    Cook at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
