Stewed Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    fresh ripe tomatoes
    salt
    pepper
    butter or margarine
    small onion (optional)
Preparation
    Plunge tomatoes into boiling water to loosen skin.
    Drain, peel, cut into small pieces and cook over medium heat.
    Slow cooking improves flavor.
    Season with salt, pepper and butter.
    A small onion may be cooked with tomatoes.
