Spinach Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, chopped
    1 c. sour cream
    1 c. mayonnaise or 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 mayonnaise
    1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
    1 lb. loaf round rye bread
Preparation
    This recipe is to be made in two stages.
    One day before serving, mix the first six ingredients together and chill overnight.
