Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cocoa powder
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
    Line 3 baking sheets with parchment or foil.
    Beat egg whites until they hold stiff peaks.
    Beat in the sugar one tablespoon at a time.
    Then add vanilla.
    Reduce mixer speed to low and add cocoa.
    Fold in the chocolate chips with a rubber spatula.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets, 1 inch apart and bake for 1 hour.
    Turn off oven and dry the cookies in the oven 2 hours longer.
    Store in an airtight container.
    Makes 40 cookies.
    You can substitute 1/2 cup chopped nuts for the chocolate chips and add a pinch each of nutmeg and cinnamon.
