Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/4 c. dark brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
Preparation
    Stir flour, soda, spices and salt together.
    Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.
    Add eggs, beating until light.
    Alternately add flour mixture and sour milk.
    Beat well after each addition. Pour batter into greased 8-inch square pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
