Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 lb. light brown sugar
1 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Beat butter and shortening together.
Gradually add
the sugars, creaming until mix is light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts.
