Chicken Chow Mein - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large fryer
1 stick margarine
2 c. onions
2 cans drained Chinese vegetables
4 Tbsp. cold water
4 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
pepper
4 c. celery
3 c. chicken broth
2 cans mushrooms
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. brown gravy sauce
1 can water chestnuts
Preparation

Melt butter and saute onions for 5 minutes.
Add celery, salt, pepper and chicken broth.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Add Chinese vegetables.
Mix.
Heat to boiling point.
Add mushrooms and water chestnuts, if desired.
Add thickening made of water, cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and gravy sauce and cook 1 minute. Add chicken and remove from heat.
Serve over rice with chow mein noodles.
