Mother'S Fruit Cake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 Tbsp. buttermilk
    2 c. plain flour
    1 pkg. dates
    1 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    6 c. nuts
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    4 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Chop fruit and nuts. Dredge in 1 cup flour. Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Mix well. Add 2 cups flour, spices and buttermilk. Then add fruit and nuts with the flour it was dredged in. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and drop by rounded teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
