Famous Fryemont Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 stalks celery, finely chopped
    2 carrots, finely chopped
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 c. chopped cauliflower
    1/2 c. chopped broccoli
    1/2 tsp. finely minced or crushed garlic (1 clove)
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    3 c. strong chicken broth
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 1/2 c. milk
    2 c. sharp shredded Cheddar cheese
    salt to taste
    1/2 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Cook vegetables in butter in large pan over medium heat 6 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; stir in flour. Cook, stirring 3 to 4 minutes over low heat.
    Slowly add chicken broth, stirring with Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
    Simmer covered over very low heat 20 minutes, stirring frequently until vegetables are tender.
    Add milk, cheese and salt to taste.
    Cook over low heat 10 minutes or until piping hot.
    Garnish with almonds.
    Serves 6.
