Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour (level)
1/2 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. cocoa (level)
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour and cocoa.
Add milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Pour small amount over egg yolks, stirring vigorously.
Return to pan and cook about 5 minutes longer.
Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
