Megan'S Taco Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
    1 lb. ground beef
    dash of salt
    dash of pepper
    2 tsp. sugar
    chili powder to taste
    3 Tbsp. Open Pit barbecue sauce
    Brooks ketchup
    1 head lettuce
    1 pkg. Velveeta, shredded
    fat-free Thousand Island dressing
    taco chips
Preparation
    In skillet, brown onion and ground beef.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Drain well.
    Add sugar; cook for 1 minute.
    Add chili powder; cook another minute.
    Add barbecue sauce; mix.
    Add only enough ketchup to color meat (should be a little dry).
    Cook for 2 minutes; remove from heat.
    Chop the well drained head of lettuce; add cheese.
    Add only enough dressing to lightly cover.
    Add meat to lettuce; mix.
    Crumble chips on top and serve.
    Do not mix ahead, or lettuce and chips will become soggy.
