Stage Planks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. dark molasses
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/3 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and molasses.
Add lemon flavoring to buttermilk.
Sift flour, salt, spices and soda together.
Add alternately with the buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Blend together well.
Chill for several hours.
Turn out onto a floured board; roll 1/4-inch thick.
Cut into 1 1/2 x 2-inch strips. Place on greased baking sheets; bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
