Blonde Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 t. baking powder
    1/8 t. baking soda
    1/2 t. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts optional)
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 egg (slightly beat)
    1 t. vanilla
    1/4 to 1/2 pkg chocolate chips
Preparation
    To sifted flour add baking powder, soda, salt and nuts. To melted shortening add, 1 T. water and sugar-cool. Add egg and vanilla to sugar mixture and stir. Stir in flour mixture gradually. Spread in greased 8x8 pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake in oven 20-25 minutes (do not over bake unless you want bricks). Cool in pan.
