Waldorf Astoria Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening or 1 stick butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. cocoa
    2 oz. bottle red food color
Preparation
    Mix vinegar and soda; set aside.
    Mix cocoa and coloring; set aside.
    Cream sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla.
    Add cocoa and coloring.
    Add milk, flour and baking powder alternately.
    Add vinegar and soda and beat again well.
    Bake in 3 layers for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
