Kolacky - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, at room temperature
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, at room temperature
    1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    jam or fruit filling
    confectioners sugar
Preparation
    Cream butter and cream cheese until fluffy.
    Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and salt.
    Add in fourths to butter mixture, blending well after each addition.
    Chill dough until easy to handle.
    Roll dough to 3/8-inch thickness on confectioners sugar and flour.
    Cut 2-inch circles or shapes.
    Place on greased baking sheets.
    Make a \"thumbprint\" about 1/4-inch deep in each cookie. Fill with jam.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes or until delicately browned on edges.
    After cooled, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
    Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
