Gramma'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can minced clams
    1 medium onion
    2 medium potatoes, diced
    4 slices salt pork
    water to cover potatoes
    1 pt. rich milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Slice
    pork
    and cut into tiny pieces.\tFry until crisp and golden; watch carefully.
    Remove and drain.
    In fat, cook onion, until tender.
    Cut potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes and add to onion, then
    add
    water to cover.\tCook until potatoes are almost done. Add
    clams\twith
    juice and cook 5 more minutes. Add milk
    or half
    and
    half.
    Season
    with
    salt and pepper. Bring to boiling, but do not boil.
    Add butter and serve warm with crackers.
    Sprinkle salt pork on top for more flavor.
