Brown Sugar Short Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. butter (no substitutes), softened
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Gradually stir in flour. Turn onto lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth, about 3 minutes. Pat into a 1/3-inch rectangle measuring 11 x 8-inch. Cut into 2 x 1-inch strips. Place 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Prick with a fork. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until bottom begins to brown. Cool 5 minutes and remove to a wire rack. Cool completely. Yields 3 1/2 dozen.
