Chocolate Zucchini Cake With Custard Sauce - cooking recipe

1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. margarine, softened
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. finely shredded zucchini
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. sliced almonds
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, oil and margarine. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla; mix well.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in zucchini, chocolate chips and almonds. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.
