Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    1 c. molasses
    2 eggs
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Sift flour, spices and soda together. Stir brown sugar into melted shortening. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and hot water alternately in small amounts. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Makes one 10 x 10-inch cake.
