Chiffon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    6 eggs, separated
    3/4 c. water
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Make a well in the center and add oil, egg yolks, oil and water.
    Beat until smooth. Set aside.
    In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until very stiff and able to be cut with a knife. Pour egg yolk mixture over whipped egg whites and fold in gently. Do not stir.
    Bake in three 8-inch layer pans lined with waxed paper at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
