Orange Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
2 eggs
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 scant tsp. grated orange rind
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, flour and buttermilk; mix well.
Add other ingredients.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
When done, stick holes in cake with long-tine fork.
