Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. oil or shortening
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    nuts and coconut (if desired)
Preparation
    Pour hot water over oats and let stand 20 minutes.
    Stir in brown sugar, sugar, oil or shortening, eggs and salt.
    Mix flour, soda and cinnamon together; add to mixture and stir.
    Nuts and coconut may be added, if desired.
    Pour into 2 (8 or 9-inch) greased cake pans or 1 (11 x 9-inch) greased pan.
