Oven Barbecued Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak (1-inch thick)
    3 (8 oz.) cans seasoned tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 can stewed tomatoes
Preparation
    Season meat well on both sides, then coat meat by dipping in flour.
    Brown slowly on both sides in hot shortening or oil. Spoon off fat.
    Combine remaining ingredients, except onion slices, and pour over meat.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
    Add onion slices.
    Cover and bake in skillet or Dutch oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tender.
