Lemon Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 Tbsp. lemon rind
    1/2 pt. whipped cream
Preparation
    Beat 4 egg whites.
    Add cream of tartar and 1 cup sugar slowly.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 1 hour in greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Beat 4 egg yolks.
    Add lemon juice, rind and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Cook until thick.
    Let cool.
    Add water if too thick.
    Add lemon mixture over meringue.
    Spread with 1/2 pint whipped cream.
