Frances Ferrell'S Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 plump stewing hen
    2 Tbsp. peppercorns
    2 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. self-rising flour
Preparation
    Place chicken in large Dutch oven.
    Cover with cold water. Add spices and simmer until done and chicken falls from bone, about 4 hours.
    Remove chicken and bring broth to a rolling boil. Put flour in bowl and add 1 cup broth.
    Stir to make a dough. Roll out dough to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut into strips and add to boiling broth.
    After all dough is added, put chicken into pot and stir to mix.
