Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (16 oz. each) cans sliced beets
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Tie pickling spices in a double layer of cheese cloth. Drain beets, reserving liquid in saucepan. Add sugar, vinegar and pickling spices to reserved liquid. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Pour over beets; cool. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours. About 3 cups beets.
