Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    5 Tbsp. Crisco shortening
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Have buttermilk at room temperature.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
    Cut in the shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add buttermilk, all at once.
    Stir until dough follows fork around bowl.
    Turn out and knead 1/2 minute.
    Roll 3/8-inch thick.
    Brush with melted fat or salad oil.
    Cut out with a biscuit cutter.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in hot oven at 450\u00b0.
    Keep dough moist.
    Makes 2 dozen small biscuits.
