Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. cold unsweetened applesauce
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 c. mixed candied peel
1/2 c. dates
