Wesson Oil Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 c. chopped mixed fruits
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped candied cherries
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. white raisins
    1/2 c. chopped pineapple
    1/2 c. chopped candied lemon peel
    1/2 c. chopped citron
    1 c. Wesson oil
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift together first 6 ingredients and set aside.
    Combine next 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
    Mix well.
    Add 1 cup of the flour mixture.
    Combine Wesson oil and sugar; beat until light.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time.
    Beat until light and fluffy.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with 1 1/2 cups buttermilk.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add fruit-nut mixture.
    Pour into a greased tube pan. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 hours.
    Decorate top of cake with candied fruit. Makes 1 tube cake.
