Bagels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    4 1/4 to 4 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt

Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, combine yeast and 1 3/4 cups flour. Combine water, sugar and salt. Beat at low speed with electric mixer for 1 1/2 minutes. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand, stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Turn out on a
    floured surface and knead until smooth. Cover for 15 minutes.
