Ingredients

2 c. white sugar
1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
5 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cream sugar and Crisco together; fold in eggs.
Add buttermilk; mix well.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
If batter seems too sticky to roll out, add 1/2 to 1 more cup flour.
Cut cookies out thick.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 17 minutes.
