Queen Elizabeth Ii Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 beaten egg
1/3 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt

Preparation

Pour water over dates and soda.
Let stand while mixing remaining ingredients.
Add to date mixture and bake in 9 x 12-inch pan 30 minutes in moderate oven, or until done.
