Cheese Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

6 firm slightly tart apples
1/2 c. sugar, divided
3/4 c. sugar and 2 Tbsp. flour, divided
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. soft butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese, divided
Preparation

Peel and thinly slice apples.
Place in a medium bowl about 1/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 1 cup cheese.
Toss well. Transfer to a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
In a medium bowl, combine remaining sugar and flour with cinnamon.
With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
Sprinkle remaining cheese and bake just long enough to melt cheese.
Serve hot.
