Deer Stew With Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. venison, cut into cubes
    1/2 lb. bacon, diced
    1 tsp. paprika
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 onions, sliced
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
Preparation
    Use a heavy kettle and heat bacon bits.
    Add deer meat and saute with paprika until brown on all sides.
    Add 3 or 4 cups boiling water.
    Stir occasionally to keep meat from sticking. Cook over low heat for 2 hours.
    Add potatoes and onions during last 30 minutes of cooking time. Remove meat, potatoes and onions. Keep warm.
    Make a thickening of about 3 tablespoons flour and broth.
    Stir into juice.
    Add meat, mushrooms, potatoes and onions.
