Meringue - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 to 6 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar at high speed with an electric mixer until foamy.
Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form and sugar is dissolved (approximately 2 to 4 minutes).
Add vanilla, beating well. Yields enough for one 9-inch pie.
