Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake - World War I - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
5 oz. shortening
2 c. water
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
-
Mix sugars, shortening, water, raisins, nutmeg and cinnamon together.
Boil for 3 minutes.
Cool and add baking soda, dissolved in a little water.
