Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    6 to 8 hard cooked eggs, diced
    1 10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
    1/2 red onion, diced finely
    8 slices cooked bacon, diced
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Layer first six ingredients (in order listed) in a plastic 9 x 13 pan with a tight fitting lid. Combine mayonnaise and sugar. Spread over the salad.
    Top with grated cheddar cheese.
    Let stand, covered, in refrigerator eight to ten hours.
