Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Mix dry ingredients except cocoa.
Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture along with vanilla.
Batter is thin.
Grease and flour 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done, about 30 minutes.
Frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
