Seven Minute Cake Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 egg whites
    dash of salt
    1/3 c. water
    3 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
Preparation
    Cook in double boiler.
    Have water in bottom of boiler boiling before you put top on.
    Mix all ingredients, except vanilla, in double boiler with mixer at high speed.
    Continue to mix at high speed the entire cooking time.
    Stop cooking when icing stands in a peak.
    Then add vanilla.
