Rouladen(Doc Bowen Special) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 round steak, 1/4-inch thick
    bacon
    onion, chopped
    salt
    mustard
    flour
    pepper
    1/8 c. cooking oil
Preparation
    Cut meat into 2-inch strips.
    Spread each piece with mustard, then a strip of bacon and sprinkle with chopped onion.
    Roll into bundles and secure with 2 toothpicks.
    Dredge in (or cover with) flour and brown in cooking oil.
    A good brown crust adds to flavor. When all are browned, add 1/2 cup water and cover.
    Simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, adding water if necessary.
