Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
5 c. sifted flour
1 c. sour cream/buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Add flour and spices gradually.
Add milk and vanilla.
Chill dough a few minutes. Roll out 1/2-inch thick on floured board.
Cut out and bake.
