Chicken Paprikash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. chicken
    3 medium onions, sliced
    2 Tbsp. paprika
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. broth or water
    1/8 tsp. red pepper (optional)
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Saute onions and paprika in shortening slowly for 10 minutes. Add disjointed chicken.
    Cover pan and simmer until golden brown. Add broth; cook until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
    Add water, if needed.
    Blend flour, seasonings and sour cream 5 minutes before chicken is done.
    Stir into mixture slowly.
    Serve with noodles or dumplings.
