Old Fashion Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. shortening (heaping)
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. milk
strawberries

Preparation

Blend sifted dry ingredients and shortening. Add milk. Stir only to mix and place on well floured board. Roll out 2 layers. Place together in round cake pan (greased and floured) with soft butter between layers. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Separate layers and put sweetened strawberries between and on top. Top with whipped cream. Serve hot.
